Early the next day we headed for the Ring of Kerry. On the way, we visited a more recent Irish national monument, the Muckross House near Killarney.

Among the many interesting features of Muckross House were the Kerry Folklife Center, where weaving, pottery, and bookbinding are demonstrated, and a bed in which Queen Victoria once slept while visiting Ireland.

The Muckross House has American connections, and was donated to the Irish government by the American family which owned it.
After leaving Muckross House we headed for the Ring of Kerry.
