Welcome to Planet Patchwork's 2009-2010 Block of the Month, "Moonlight Dancers," by Diane Hundley.

Dancin Stars Quilt

As before each year we come up with a different BOM design for you to make.  A few years ago the public voted on 6 different quilts for the new BOM.  We are proud to present “Moonlight Dancers”.  We love your comments and excitement and would love to hear what you have to say.  Thank you for supporting our BOM.

Just as before you are not tied to one color way but are free to choose your fabrics and let you imagination run wild.  It will be interesting to see what you come up with.

The finished size of this quilt will be about 60" x 74".

Yardage figured using 44" wide fabric and cutting borders from selvedge to selvedge.  If you choose to make one long piece for the borders you will need more fabric.  Below is a list of yardage needed to complete your quilt top (main quilt and borders).  As always yardage is figured more than actually needed.

To make the quilt top only
Background – Black – 3 1/8 yards
Green – 5/8 yards
Red – 5/8 yards
Yellow – 7/8 yards
Purple – 5/8 yard
Blue – 1 3/4 yards

Borders
Green (inner border)
1 3/4 yards (based on one long strip for each side)

Black (Outer border)
2 1/8 yards (based on one long strip for each side)

Yardage for blocks between borders has been figured in the quilt top yardage.

Binding
3/4 yard
