Individual Block instructions
Section 6 Merry Go Round
(Make one 10" block)


(B) Green, (C) Red, (D) Yellow, (F) Blue
From each of the following fabrics cut
Cut 1 square 5 7/8" cut once diagonally
Cut 1 square 3 3/8", cut once diagonally
Cut 1 square 6 1/4", cut twice diagonally
Cut 1 square 1 3/4" of each color
Cut 1 square 3 3/4", cut twice diagonally
YOU WILL HAVE LEFT OVER TRIANGLES FOR ALL COLORS


Assembly & Block Construction of Merry Go Round
1. Sew (1) one (C) Red and (B) Green square together. See diagram 1.
2. Sew (1) one (D) Yellow and (F) Blue square together. See diagram 1.
3. Sew the two units from Step 1 and Step 2 together to make the Four Patch. See diagram 1.
4. Referring to Diagram 2 sew (1) one (B) Green QST to the green and red Four patch edge.
5. Sew (1) one (F) Blue QST to the yellow and blue Four patch edge. See diagram 2.
6. Referring to Diagram 3 sew (1) one (C) Red QST to the red and blue Four patch side.
7. Referring to Diagram 4 sew (1) one (B) Green and (1) one (F) Blue HST to the unit sewn in Step 6.
8. Sew (1) one (D) Yellow and (1) one (C) Red HST to the unit sewn in Step 7 referring to diagram 5.
9. Sew (1) one (D) Yellow and (1) one (C) Red HST to the unit sewn in Step 8 referring to diagram 6.
10. Referring to Diagram 7 sew (1) one (B) Green and (1) one (F) Blue HST to the unit sewn in Step 9.
11. Sew (1) one (D) Yellow and (1) one (C) Red HST to the unit sewn in Step 10 referring to diagram 8.
12. Referring to Diagram 9 sew (1) one (B) Green and (1) one (F) Blue HST to the unit sewn in Step 11.
13. Press and set aside.
14. Measurement check Block should measure 10 1/2


Assembly & Block Construction of the Arrow Maze
Section 6 Arrow Maze
(Make one 8" block)


(A) Black
Cut 4 squares 2 7/8", then cut once diagonally

(B) Green
Cut 1 square 5 1/4" then cut twice diagonally

(C) Red
Cut 1 square 5 1/4" then cut twice diagonally

(D) Yellow
Cut 4 squares 2 7/8" then cut once diagonally

(E) Purple
Cut 1 square 5 1/4" then cut twice diagonally

(F) Blue
Cut 1 square 5 1/4" then cut twice diagonally


1. Sew (1) one (A) Black HST to each of the bias edges of (1) one (F) Blue HST. See diagram 1 for placement. This will make a flying geese unit.
2. Repeat Step 1 one more time for a total of (2) two units.
3. Press carefully. Referring to diagram 2 sew the (2) two flying geese units together. Measurement check - block should measure 4 1/2"
4. Repeat Steps 1 thru 3 using the remaining pieces cut. For placement use the Block Diagram.
5. Referring to Block diagram sew the units together.


** NOTE ** You will have left over triangles


Assembly & Block Construction of the Double X
Section 6 Double X
(Make one 8" block)


(B) Green
Cut 3 squares 3 1/2", then cut once diagonally


(C) Red
Cut 3 squares 3 1/2" then cut once diagonally
Cut 2 squares 3 1/8"


(D) Yellow
Cut 1 square 3 1/8"


1. Sew one (1) Green (B) HST to one (1) Red (C) HST. See diagram 1 for placement.
2. Repeat step 1 five (5) more times for a total of 6 units.
3. Sew block together as shown in Assembly Diagram.
4. Press and your block is complete.




Section 6 Economy Filler Block
(Make one 6" block


(A) Black
Cut 2 squares 3 7/8" then cut once diagonally


(C) Red
Cut 1 square 4 1/4" then cut twice diagonally


(F) Blue
Cut 1 square 3 1/2"


Assembly & Block Construction of the Economy Filler Block
1. Sew (1) one (C) Red QST to the top and bottom of (1) one (F) Blue square. See diagram 1 for placement.
2. To the unit sewn in Step 1 sew the remaining (C) Red QST to the sides of the (F) Blue square. See diagram 2 for placement.
3. Sew (1) one (A) Black HST to the top and bottom of the unit sewn in Step 2. See diagram 3 for placement.
4. To the unit sewn in Step 4 sew the remaining (A) Black HST to the sides. See diagram 4 for placement.
5. Press and set aside.
6. Measurement Check - Block should measure 6 1/2" square.




Section 6 Yellow Light Filler Block
(Make two 4" blocks


(B) Green
Cut 1 rectangle 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"


(C) Red
Cut 1 rectangle 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"


(D) Yellow
Cut 1 square 5 1/4", then cut twice diagonally
(you will have 2 QST left over)


(F) Blue
Cut 2 squares 2 7/8", then cut once diagonally


Assembly & Block Construction of the HST Filler Block


1. Sew (1) one (F) Blue HST to each of the bias edges of (1) one (D) Yellow QST. SSee diagram 1 for placement. This will make a flying geese unit.
2. To the unit sewn in Step 1 sew (1) one (C) Red rectangle. See diagram 2 for placement.
3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2. Replacing the (B) Green rectangle.
4. Press. Referring to diagram 3 sew the (2) two flying geese units together. Measurement check - block should measure 4 1/2" x 8 1/2".




Assembly of this months blocks
(B) Green
Cut 1 rectangle 2 1/2" x 8 1/2"

(D) Yellow
Cut 1 square 2 1/2"

(E) Purple
Cut 1 square 2 1/2"

(F) PurpleCut 1 square 2 1/2"


Finished block size is 18" x 18"
Referring to the color photo sew your blocks together as follows


1. Sew the following 2 1/2" squares together (D) Yellow, (E) Purple, (F) Blue.
2. To the bottom of the Economy Patch sew the unit from Step 1. Press.
3. Referring to the photo sew the (G) Green rectangle to the bottom of the Arrow Maze block.
4. Referring to the Section 6 diagram lay the blocks out.
5. Sew the blocks together as shown.
6. Press and your Section 6 block is complete.
7. Check your measurement. This block should measure 18 1/2" x 18 1/2".
